Last summer I attended the first Go Blog Social blogging event in Kansas City. This event was to designed to educate and inspire bloggers.

The two-day conference was that and much more. I learned a lot more about blogging and how it really impacts brands. I also got to meet a network of fabulous bloggers.

In fact I got a lot more out of this event than I thought I was going to. You can read my full recap of last years event here.

This year they moved up the event to early April, which for me isn’t exactly the best time of year, since it is near the start of the end of the semester.

However, since I teach web design and blogging, I managed to make arrangements to attend this years event, as a professional development activity.

I must say I’m super excited, and can’t wait for the event. The Go Blog Social Facebook page has been bustling with latest updates since they announced the date for this years event.

The list of speakers keeps growing but some I’m really excited to see include…

Jessica of How Sweet

Jessica of How Sweet

Jessica from How Sweet it is, who spoke last year. She was an amazing speaker, and seriously I can’t get enough of her blog. Her food is mouth-watering and her personality is over the top fun. I can’t wait to hear what expert tips she has to share at this years event.

Crystle Wiebe

“Corporate Blogging” expert, Crystal Wiebe of Staples

Corporate Communications & Social Media Specialist for Staples Promotional Products, Crystal Wiebe, is scheduled to talk about involves planning, creating and editing all content and managing a company’s social media presence. It’s these real world strategies and lessons that I will be taking back into the classroom with me, since many of my students will some day potentially be working as online social media managers.

Nicole of Cedar & Rush

Nicole of Cedar & Rush

Nicole of Cedar & Rush will be presenting on “How to Build Your Blog Network – both Online and Offline.” This is really where I need to work on for my own Akram’s Ideas blog. It’s building that network and community aspect of the blog that I seem to be lacking. I’m curious what suggestions Nicole might have, and how well I can implement them.

Amanda Marie Lackey

Amanda Marie Lackey of Amanda Marie Portraits.

Photography is key to a successful blog, there’s no two ways around it. Photography is what brings in the readers, the copy (written communication) is what keeps them coming back. With that said I’m excited to see Amanda Marie Lackey on the list of speakers. This classy photographer will be speaking on Photography + Style 101, two topics I really would like to sharpen my skills in.

With the list of speakers growing and updates daily from the Go Blog Social Facebook page , you can see why I’m so excited.

The event this year will be held at the Berg Event center in Kansas City on April 4-5. If you register before the Jan 31, though you can get the early bird discount ticket at only $99.

Seriously you can’t go wrong at that price. You can get your tickets here!
